She graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in Agriculture, worked as a police officer with the State of Texas, was with the San Diego Police Department, taught for the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and with a law enforcement agency in Alabama.

She is the senior woman on the US Kung Fu Team, awarded the Medal of Putien from China and the Statue of Tao for martial arts, holder of several International Martial Arts Titles, and is an Award Winning author of Fantasy fiction.

To date, Candace has written more than forty-one titles.

The Cameo

'The Cameo' takes place in the 19th century in England and Italy.
A mysterious cameo is found by an army Captain returning from World War II. When he tries to find the owner of the cameo, he is led to a diary written by a young Victorian girl in Italy for a holiday. While in Italy she not only finds love (of course!) but is also faced with questions about her faith and the 'wicked Romanists' in Italy.
The heroine and her companion travel to Florence, Siena, Montepulciano and Pienza and she gives her impression of the churches and sights that she sees.
It is shortly after Cardinal John Newman's death -he is perhaps England's most famous convert to the Catholic Church - and his writings influence our heroine.
These are dangerous times in Italy and there is a surprise ending.
We also catch up with our World War II captain and how the cameo changes his life as well.
